-Die Vampire, Die! from the cast recording of [title of show] featuring Susan Blackwell, Hunter Bell, Heidi Blickenstaff, and Jeff Bowen

As the song says, there are all sorts of vampires, all of varying degrees of insidiousness, in each of our lives.  (Arguably, the most common of these suckers are the “happiness vampires”, those poor desperate creatures that attempt to leech the joy – specifically your joy – from life at every opportunity. Never met one? You obviously haven’t been spending enough time on social media. But I digress.)

The Bloggess (Jenny Lawson), whom I have to thank for sharing that video, is worried about a specific vampire, one that takes the form of a voice in her head that sounds an awful lot like a former teacher and is preventing her from finishing her work-in-progress. Read her post (and as usual the comments are equally as funny).

We here at Stilettos, Stoli and Scribbles© can, of course, relate. We are locked in constant battle with vampires of all shapes, sizes, trying to suck everything from our time to our mojos.

Specifically though, I dedicate this post (and that song) to anyone who’s ever had a moment of self-doubt…in other words, all of us. Every single one. You don’t suck, the vampires do!

Oh, and if any of you have any tips for driving a stake through the hearts of these creatures, please share in comments below!
